TMA Mondays: Priorities
TMA'ed while listening to Cold Water by Major Lazer, Justin Bieber
These days the concept of priorities seems to be a common theme in every discussion, especially when it comes to Pokémon Go. Just because Pokemon Go is all the rage, hasn't stopped people from doing things for the gram. For example, this Starbucks barista that put order stickers on top of the cup logos to get back at annoying customers, who mostly wanted it for the picture. What's worse journalists made it a priority to make a news story from her Reddit post and blew it out of proportion .
Dunkin' Donuts is finally prioritizing our eggspectations by actually using real eggs in their breakfast sandwiches. While most people are keeping up with the Trumps or downloading Hillary Clinton's gamifying campaign app, I am downloading the latest chick-fil-a app so I can pre-order a spicy chicken sandwich and get it faster than you can say Eat Mor Chikn.
Our Pick of the Week
D'Ambrosio Gelato, Capitol Hill - Usually when I wanted something lighter than Molly moons, I would go to Old School Frozen Custard. Since they were closed for a few months for renovation, I started getting gelato at D'Ambrosio instead and now I'm always indecisive when it comes to dessert because I want all three.
Sun Dried Tomatoes - Weirdly enough I love tomatoes cooked more than raw, so sun dried tomatoes are a god send. They are also used in a majority of the Tasty videos I want to try, like this one.
New Sh*t in Town
Dumplings of Fury, West Seattle - Last week, a new kung fu themed chinese dumpling restaurant opened. The fresh handmade dumplings will primarily be for takeout or delivery since the restaurant has very limited seating. Even though they are only open from Wed to Sunday, it gives us Seattleites another place to eat dumplings while we wait for Din Tai Fung to open downtown
The Cookie Counter, Fremont - What started as a Volkswagon Ice cream sandwiches truck is now a brick and mortar on Greenwood Ave. Move over Hello Robin, these cookies are vegan and taste just as good as non-vegan. Also not only will they serve cookies, but you can get homemade hand pies, pop tarts sundaes and more.
Seattle, What's Happening?
Sweet Fest, 7/26 - Mighty-O donuts in Ballard is hosting a community event to gain support and donations for a Community Parklet. What is a Parklet? There is only one way to find out. To pique your interest further they will have free donuts and Molly moon's ice cream!
Alice in Wonderland Tea Party and Croquet, 7/30 - You can expect Gas Works to be populated by Wonderland characters playing croquet and sipping tea as if it’s the norm. Either show up in your own costume with your tea cup or to be an observer of the madness. Choice is yours.
Pokemon Go: Capitol Hill Food Safari, 7/31 - This event is being catered mostly to Pokemon noobs, but if you're a foodie and an expert at Pokemon Go I would still look into this. You can catch all the rare Pokemon swarming Cap hill while eating your way through 6 different restaurants.
