TMA Mondays: Making Lemonade

TMA'ed while watching Beyonce's teaser for Lemonade

Sometimes life gives you lemons and sometimes it gives you the new Lemonade teaser video by Queen Bey. Whichever the case, we hope you can make the best of both. Despite Angry Beaver in Greenwood having a legit reason to be angry this week, the owner is still hopeful to get past the setbacks. After being caught up in the gas explosion last month, the bar has been working hard to reopen before NHL playoffs. Unfortunately, they just got a butt load of their alcohol, equipment and hokey décor stolen.

Also Din Tai Fung Bellevue Branch is facing troubles with inspections just like when they opened in 2010. Last week it received an unsatisfactory health inspection and almost shut down. They aren't alone, Burgermaster also scored poorly on its health report card.

Our Pick of the Week

Since today is the start of the second round of Seattle Restaurant week, we thought we'd change it up and give you  the TMA low down on the lineup.

Halal Friendly

Mistral Kitchen - Both their Lunch and Dinner menus are heavy on the vegetarian and seafood options. They use all the trendiest but delicious vegetables, carbs, seafood a foodie desires for a bougie restaurant week meal.

TMA Favorites

Mari's, Pink Door - I eat three courses when I go to pink door on the reg, so to get that and only drop $30 bucks is a steal!

Temi's , Toulouse Petit - Toulouse is one of Temi's go to brunch spots, however, their dinner is more on the pricey side. With their restaurant week menu, you can get all that Toulouse goodness at dinner for only $30

Bang for your Buck

Staple & FancyThis was one of the restaurants we went to for last year's restaurant week and we thought the food, the efficient staff, and the experience overall was worth every little penny.

New Sh*t in Town

Seattle Mamak, Ballard - Kedai Mekan is the only Malaysian food in Seattle I know of, and I miss their quick take out style. Luckily, this new food truck addition to Ballard mini pod's will be serving up the tradition Malaysian dishes week days from 11am-8pm.

White Swan Public House, South Lake Union - Most of you are probably familiar with Radiator Whiskey. Well the owner is opening a more a halal friendly version and I'm so stoked. Why is it more halal friendly? Instead of sausage and pig head, they will serve roasted whole rockfish or crab with garlic chilies. Expect it sometime in June.

Sweet Iron, Capitol Hill - In the summer sometimes you want to get out and about, but also get your brunch on. Sweet Iron is the quickest way to get your bougie brunch fix with Belgian waffles and it's going to open a second location in Cap Hill.

Seattle, What's Happening

Café 56 Free Ice Cream Day - Café 56 is reopening today and they are celebrating the only way anyone should in 80 degree weather. Free Ice Cream Scoops from 11am-5pm.

Arcade LightsFor one night, you can try everything Pike Place Market's North Arcade has to offer and also help the community. The tickets range from $60-150. Yes, that is a hefty price to cough up, but all proceeds are going to the Pike Place Market foundation working towards supporting low income families and individuals in the area.
