TMA Does Thanksgiving
TMA'ed while singing Just A Friend by Mario
Temi: This past week, Mari and I went our separate ways. Don’t Panic! It was just for Thanksgiving. Mari was in Virginia with her family. I stayed in Seattle and my friends Adrienne and Beebs visited from out of town.
Mari: Even though we were across the coast. The TMA rules still applied. There was lots of food, lots of games and lots of merriment.
Temi: I did Friendsgiving potluck style and made malva pudding, Nigerian Jollof rice and a hasselback potato gratin recipe I found on Serious Eats. Adrienne got down and dirty with the turkey, my roommate Keia made us all feel good with some vegetables and Beebs killed us with pie. Also in attendance, wings, ribs, breaded drumsticks, lentil soup, bread pudding and LOTS of wine! We washed it all down with several rounds of heads up.
Mari: At home, I had the huge responsibility of making the cranberry sauce and beautifying the table for its big debut. In other words, I stayed out of my aunt's way and played dodge ball with the rest of the family. For the cranberry sauce, I tweaked the recipe by adding 1/2 a cup of sugar and 1 cup brown sugar instead of Savory Sweet Life's recommended measurements. As you can see below, my family was traditionally nontraditional with three turkeys, sweet and regular mashed potatoes, and a birthday cake with pies.
