TMA Mondays: Get that Candy

IMG_7024.JPG

If Valentine's day is the one time you can validate buying as much candy and sweets as possible, then Eater Atlanta has got you covered with this list of shops. In that same thread, if you haven't made those V-day reservations yet, check out any of these restaurants.

Our Pick of the Week

Tiny Lou's and The Lobby Bar, Midtown - If you follow the ATL food scene, you’ve probably heard people talk about Tiny Lou's, the fairly new restaurant in Hotel Clermont. Well its talked about for good reason, their food is bomb. Also the lobby bar has great drinks and the décor is perfect for a date or drinks with friends.

Ayamase - I was craving some ayamase (ofada stew) last week so I followed this recipe by Dooney's kitchen and it was fire. If you don’t know what ayamase is, it’s a Nigerian traditional stew. Hot and spicy with assorted meat. Mostly made with bell peppers. If you like the heat, try it.

New Sh*t in Town

Coffee & Ice Cream, Buckhead - Queen of Cream and Revelator coffee are coming together to open two new shops in Buckhead. The first of the two, Coffee & Ice Cream, will have a similar menu to Queen of Cream's current location. This means you can expect their classic and seasonal flavors as well as sundaes and… coffee.

District M, Sandy Springs - This new sushi place is already on my list of places to visit. Helmed by Chef Jacki Chang of Umi, District M is going to be offering fresh sushi from Japan with about 3 choices for omakase. The sushi bar is also supposedly the largest in the city (20 seater), so this hopefully means better chances for you to settle in at the bar and get your nigiri fill.

Atlanta, What's Happening?

Mardi Gras Streetcar Adventure, 02/16 - Celebrate Mardi Gras with a party around town featuring live music, and food and drink from over 35 vendors.

Creole Dinner Party Cooking Class, 02/15 - Learn how to make New Orlean favorites like gumbo and bananas foster at this cooking class.
