TMA Mondays: Smokin'

IMG_6957.JPG

As Temi mentioned in the TMA Monday last week, she has moved to the east coast. So from now on, you'll be getting the PNW updates from me and the Hotlanta news from her.

Honestly, at least one of us isn't inhaling the thick smoky air of Seattle.

Without further ado, here is the latest in Seattle's food scene.

Our Pick of the Week

Pam's Kitchen, Wallingford - Since I moved to the FreFord (if that's not a term for Fremont/Wallingford yet, now it is), I have eaten here countless times. The Aloo pies and the goat curries with roti make my mouth water just thinking about them.

New Sh*t in Town

85 C Bakery, International District - Probably the best news for two of my closest friends ( you know who you are) and all the other 85C addicts, you no longer have to make the trip down to south center mall to get your fix.

Little Kitchen, U District - A new casual Chinese dumpling restaurant that is open from 11am -8pm every day except Saturdays. They will serve boiled dumplings, they will also have pot stickers, wontons, roasted/fried chicken, fried short ribs and even noodles. That’s a lot for a spot named little kitchen.

Habit Burger, Ballard - If you missed your chance to try the burgers during their fundraiser events this past weekend, don’t worry because Habit burger officially opened yesterday 8/22. They are a chain from Cali and the 7th location in the Sea-Tac region.

Seattle, What's Happening?

AAJA Seattle Chef Showcase, 8/24 -There will be lots of food showcased by several Seattle chefs in the new social club called the Collective known for its hammock garden and rock climbing wall. There will also be a silent auction.

Solstice Night Market SLU, 8/25 - This Saturday is the second to last night market in South lake union for the summer. The last one is on September 15th and by then we might be back to the rainy weather.

Little Saigon Festi Roll, 8/26 - A community festival celebrating Vietnamese American food and pop culture is being hosted at the Little Siagon in International district. There will be lots of food including a pho and spring roll eating contest.
