TMA Mondays: Market Season
The weather is glorious and perfect for the start of many farmers markets and night markets to be open on a regular basis.
This week not only marks the start of market season, but also the start of Ramadan.
To all of our Muslim followers, Ramadan Kareem! May you have a blessed month, iA.
To all of our non-Muslim followers, you can wish Muslims a Happy Ramadan by saying "Ramadan Kareem" or "Ramadan Mubarak ( moo-ba-ruk)" on Wednesday.
It is no surprise that Eduardo Jordan has won not one but two James Beard awards this year. Best chef in Northwest for Salare and Best new restaurant for Junebaby.
Be sure to check them out if you haven't already!
Our Pick of the Week
Sweet Lo's ice cream - This the best coffee and cookies cream ice cream I've ever had out of a pint. I usually scoop it up from the freezer at Home Remedy on 6th ave, but there are several other places you can find these delicious homemade ice cream flavors.
Grilled Honey Chicken - With good weather comes the smell of grilled food on rooftops, parks, and backyards. I'm looking forward to trying this recipe in the next week or so.
New Sh*t in Town
Deep Sea Sugar and Salt, Georgetown - Cakes that used to be sold from an airstream trailer, are going to have a home in what used to be a small grocery store. The cake shop will have more than just cakes ready made to go but also pints of Sweet Lo's ice cream and other pantry supplies for sale.
Central Smoke, Cap Hill - This isn't exactly new, but rebranding of the existing restaurant Seven beef. Personally I'm excited because I recently went here for dinner and I enjoyed the smoked brisket more than any of their daily cuts of beef.
Zane & Wylies, Downtown - Last week this steakhouse opened in the vacant space where Circadia once resided. Their forte is approachable modern west coast vibe menu of meat, seafood etc. They seem to only be dinner service right now open from 4-10pm.
Seattle Freeze, Georgetown - Seattle freeze might be a good thing if you're talking about this new Georgetown ice cream and donut shop.
Seattle, What's Happening?
