TMA Mondays: Celebrate Good Times
TMA'ed while listening to Cool by Marc E. Bassy
This is week full of celebrations.
There's Fat Tuesday which leads to Mardi Gras celebrations all week, followed by Valentine's day, ending with a long weekend due to President's day.
Besides that, not a lot is new or happening this week.
Our Pick of the Week
Restaurant Roux, Fremont - It saddens me to say that one of my favorites is closing down this coming Sunday Feb. 18th. The owner has sold the restaurant and will be going back to his humble beginnings with his food truck "Where Ya At Matt?" If you haven't had a chance to try it, definitely try to celebrate Mardi Gras, Valentine's day or join their lively way of closing down this long weekend.
Plum Pudding - Today is National Plum Pudding day. Since I've never had it before, I looked it up and learned that its best to make it a year in advance of when you want to eat it. That's commitment. I guess if you make it today, it is almost 11 months before Christmas holidays.
New Sh*t in Town
Floret, SeaTac Airport - Last week on February 6th, Café Flora's sister restaurant opened right in between terminals A and B. It’s a wonderous 80 seat full service restaurant that could be mistaken for a botanical garden at first glance.
13 coins, Pioneer Square - Last month was the first time in 50 years that the well-known 24/7 restaurant closed down. They've moved the vintage restaurant with all its charm close to Century Link stadium. It will still have the same menu with about 130 dishes.
Seattle, What's Happening?
12 days of Valentine's, 2/9-2/20 - Duke's is all about celebrating love not just one day but 12 with their special menu. So if you still need a place to celebrate, Duke's has you covered to celebrate on any day you'd like.
Mardi Gras Parties 2/12-2/16 - The Stranger has a great list of all the parties and food specials celebrating Mardi Gras. So if you don't have plans yet, check it out.
