TMA Mondays: Winter is here...

The Game of Thrones Season … I've lost count, aired this past Sunday. Here is what you can look forward to while you wait for the next episode.

Halal Chef meal kits are now launched in several Midwest Cities, but they should be wary because Amazon is coming.

Amazon Go Meal Kits are supposedly available for some select locations for prime customers on Amazon fresh. The bigger news is that they have filed a patent to trademark the meal kit service they describe as " we do the prep, you be the chef."

Also Salt & Straw is coming this winter to not one Seattle neighborhood but two ( Cap Hill and Ballard)!

Our Pick of the Week

The Whale Wins, Wallingford - It definitely does win my vote for best small plates restaurant. When a restaurant has plates that are not only small but meant to be shared I'm instantly skeptical. However Whale wins food is so flavorful and unique that it didn’t even matter.

New Sh*t in Town

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka, U Village - After being open in Bellevue for 3 years, Hokkaido Ramen is making moves to Uvillage on August 5th. What makes them different than any other ramen place? An AI robot host. Yep a robot will welcome you to the restaurant and recommend menu options all courtesy of a partnership between Microsoft and Japanese system development company.

Tentenyu Kyoto Style Ramen, Capitol Hill - Another ramen place in Cap hill, why not? There can never be too much Ramen right? This one is known for their flavorful chicken-based broth, which is great since many others only have pork based options. That’s a big no-no for halal foodies.

Halal Guys, Pioneer Square - The long awaited New York franchise is officially opening on August 11th. Chicken over rice is just around the corner, let's just hope the lines are not as long as the ones for Chik fil A. Who am I kidding, they will probably be longer.

Seattle, What's Happening?

Groupon's Bite of Seattle, 07/21 - 07/23 - For the 5th year in a row, Bite of Seattle Bite of Seattle is back! There'll be over 60+ restaurants and vendors, 4 live music stages, the Bite Cooks Lounge and more. Also, entry is free!

Seattle No Kid Hungry Dinner, 07/20 - Chef Joshua Henderson and numerous guest chefs are hosting a dinner with several courses at Westward for the cause No Kid Hungry.

Happy Hour Food Walk, 07/20 - Why just go to happy hour at one restaurant/bar when you can take a stroll around Chinatown from 4-7pm and get $2-6 bites from over 30 restaurants.
