Super Six's Summer Menu
Last month, I had the opportunity to get a preview of the Super Six's new additions to their menu. These items are now on their menu and you may have noticed them on your most recent visit. If you didn’t notice or you haven't been to Super Six, this post and these pictures will encourage you to stop by.
Mari wasn’t in town for this dinner, so I volunteered as tribute and went on this expedition solo. I had the opportunity to meet some other folks in the Seattle food scene and by the end of the delicious meal, we were collectively food coma'ed. Here is what we tried and what you should look out for on your next visit to Super Six.
Aside from drinks, we started off with a Poke flight, that consisted of Ahi Tuna, Salmon and Tofu poke on Taro chips. The salmon was my favorite but the tuna came in a close second. They both had a glaze that added an extra kick which you know I love. The tofu was different and not to my carnivore tastes, but it was a hit around the table. The tofu and taro chips had a great combined texture.
Auto Banh Sando - New Item (I think ?)
In sadness, I can not tell you much about how this tasted, because it had nuts. That being said, it looked amazing. It was basically a stuffed donut/malasada that's a play on a banh mi sandwich. According to the head pastry chef, she was trying to get into the savory side of baking and from the looks on everyone's faces after they tried it, she succeeded!
S6 Cobb Salad - New Item
To quote myself, "omg this sh*t is amazing". I don’t believe in salad, I realized long ago that leaves and I just don’t get along. Once in a while I try to see if we can make things work, but it just doesn’t happen, The S6 Cobb salad is a salad++ though. It was colorful, it was chock-full with different textures AND it had tamago! I have deep unexplainable feelings for tamago. The S6 salad definitely had me wrapped around its finger.
Chicken and Waffles - New Item
In the spirit of not talking too much. Make a reservation at super Six for brunch. When you get there, order the chicken and waffles. Thank me later :). It's really good. I swear.
Super Six Luau
At this point I was already stuffed! Then we got hit with the Luau. The colors, were screaming, try me Temi!, Try me! So I did. I tried a bit of everything. The Okinawan Potato Puree stood out for me as did the pork belly musubi.
Ube Cream Soda Float - New Item
Last but definitely not the least was the ube cream float. The float was like a purple dream. Ube everything. Even a house made ube cream soda. There was an ube cookie that topped the float, and it was amazing! Secret, there is a second cookie at the bottom!! You'll just have to finish you dessert to get to it ;)
