TMA Mondays: Late Much
TMA'ed while bumping' Don't behave by Anik Khan
We're cutting it pretty close with this update, okay that is an understatement. It's past midnight and let's just say it's been one of those Mondays where it feels like I've just lived through the whole week.
Since our last update, a lot has happened.
JUNE BABY OPENED. We can't wait to go try it.
Circadia closed their classy doors this weekend with the promise of being back with a new chapter.
An older establishment, Calozzi's Cheesesteaks, will be serving its last sandwiches on Friday.
Dorothea Coffee, the microroastery, is temporarily closing and moving from their "micro" shop to a bigger café in South Seattle.
Our Pick of the Week
Batter & Berries, Chicago - I spent this weekend in Chicago and my first stop was brunch at Batter and Berries in Lincoln Park. I'm still dreaming about their sweet potato chicken stuffed waffles with fried chicken on top with nutmeg hot sauce. Oh and their French toast are bomb. I tried all of them since they let you get a flight of French toast.
Chipotle meatballs - The craving for meatballs is strong this week. Specifically these chipotle saucy mouthwatering meatballs Temi made a while back.
New Sh*t in Town
Kai Market, South Lake Union - If Uwajimaya is too much of a trek for those living downtown, get hype for their spin off that is more than just a grocery store. They aim to fulfill all your stomach's desires. It is planning to open on May 3rd.
Trophy Cupcakes, South Lake Union - Until October you'll be able to enjoy some delectable macarons and cupcakes after dinner at Bar Harbor, M bar or hitting up Kai Market.
Seattle, What's Happening?
Cinco de Mayo Block Party at Green Lake, 5/5 - Jalepeno eating contest, loads of Mexican food, and live performances, what more could you ask for on Cinco de Mayo?
Ono cakes and Delights SLU Market Opening Day, 5/6 - Ono's tropical flavored dessert might be the closest we get to tropical weather. This Saturday you can get your hands on some at the South Lake Union Market.
Fiesta 5k Ole & Taco Truck Challenge, 5/6 - If you feel guilty about all the tacos you ate on May 5th, you can run/walk off the calories and make room for more tacos.
Taco Libre Truck Showdown, 5/7 - Apparently Cinco de Mayo on a Friday means it's actually Cinco, Seis, Siete de Mayo. For the last day of the festivities, live it up at tacopalooza aka biggest taco truck competition taking over Fremont.
