TMA Mondays: Let's Taco Bout It

TMA'ed while listening to LOVE by Kendrick Lamar

We hope you all had a great weekend, whether you were celebrating Easter or the slightly warmer weather.

Speaking of weekends and sun, how many of you like to take ferry rides to the different islands, like Bainbridge?

For those of you who said yes, how many of you enjoy the food offered on ferries?

If you said yes to that, I am slightly judging you. Only slightly.

Good news for all of you, the ferries are getting some of the Seattle food we love and appreciate. They've  teamed up with Centerplate, the same company who manages the food at Safeco field, and will now have Beechers, Chowder, Ellenos yogurt and more for sale.

This week is light on the new restaurants and heavy on the events. If you're a taco lover, this one is for you.

Our Pick of the Week

Duke's Chowder House, Alki - I can't go to Alki and not stop by Duke's. For someone who can't eat bacon or drink alcohol they have plenty of chowder options to choose from that don’t have either of those things. Their sweet potato fries are also my favorite thing ever.

Plantain chips - I've been craving chips a lot the past few days, and these plantain chips Temi makes are definitely worth craving.

New Sh*t In Town

Big Mario's Pizza, Frelard - Big Mario's is bringing their New York style pizza to the space formerly inhabited by Bourbon and Bones. They are having a big grand opening on 4/22 at 4pm. The first 100 customers get free slices.

Seattle, What's Happening?

Taco Throw down, 4/17 - Call Now! Chef Alvin and Chef Mark of Mkt. are making tacos and you are the judge. We know this is short notice, but in case you didn't already make a reservation there may still be a chance!

Neon Taco Bell Night, 4/20 - For those of you that will have the munchies, Neon taco will be satisfying your taco bell cravings from 3pm-1:30am with Doritos nachos and Doritos shell tacos.

Happy Hour Food Walk, 4/20 - This is the first one of the year and you won't want to miss the opportunity to sample dishes from different restaurants in China Town for $2-6!!

Taco Crawl Seattle! , 4/22 - Unlike the throw down, you don't need tickets or reservations for this. Just arrive hungry with a wad of cash. You can join at any time of the crawl and leave at any time, but be prepared to stuff your face. Also, the crawl spans several neighborhoods so you'll need a source of transportation, whether that is a bike, bus, or designated driver that is your choice.

Hello Kitty Café Truck, 4/22 - Hello Kitty is making an appearance in Westfield South Center mall near Tukwila for a day. A little far out from Seattle Downtown, but if you find yourself in the area it is worth checking out.
