TMA'ed while listening to Attention by Charlie Puth
Temi: We visited Katsu burger for dinner on a weekday. Mari has been there before, but this was my first time at any of their establishments.
Mari: Be prepared to make decisions. The first time I came I was overwhelmed with all the choices and this time around I was still pretty indecisive. There are several kinds of fries and sauces to choose from. Also you can decide to stick with the default meat for a burger or switch it out for a different protein/tofu.
Temi: Other than the plethora of choices, ordering is pretty simple. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. I got the Ohayou Gozaimasu with Chicken Katsu with curry fired and spicy mayo sauce. Mari ordered the Teriyaki Chicken but replaced the chicken with tofu, Nori fries with Nori ranch and a matcha milkshake.
Mari: The first time I came I had the wabi wasabi with beef. I enjoyed it to the fullest even though the mayo wasabi made my nose tingle and my eyes tear up. This time I got the tofu since it is the only halal option. I also had the nori fries last time, and they were just as good the second time around especially with the nori ranch enhancing the flavor.
Temi: I really liked the curry fries, alone and with the mayo. You know I am about all things spicy so anything with a kick takes me to my happy place. The burger on the other hand was nothing to write home about. The chicken while crispy and juicy, didn’t really have any flavor. There was also a ton of cabbage piled onto the burger which is great for crunch but let's be real cabbage has no flavor. The egg was fully fried, so no runny yolk and overall the burger was filling but not satisfying.
Mari: Let it be known I'm not a big fan of tofu, but give it to me fried with pineapples and teriyaki sauce and suddenly it's not so bad. Unlike Temi, I liked the flavors of my burger for the most part. The combination of the sweet pineapples mixed with the teriyaki sauce and the bitter pickles was surprisingly satisfying. I'm with her on the cabbage though. There was so much of it, I couldn't hold my burger. I ate it with a fork and knife. Yeah, I know table manners aside, but trust me it would've been more than just bad manners if I ate the burger like a normal person.
