TMA Mondays: Tis the season

TMA'ed while listening to Side Effects by Ty Dolla $ign

It's that time of year again where the streets of Bellevue become a magical winter wonderland at 7pm every night, the cranes in all over Seattle are less of an eyesore with the Christmas tree toppers and lights, and the Sheraton smells like gingerbread because of the annual Gingerbread Village competition celebrating 25 years.

New to the holiday Seattle spirit is the Diagon Alley house in Ballard with their Dumbledore Santa.

That's not the only thing that's new, there are a lot of new restaurants in town as well.

Our Pick of the Week

Maslow's, South Lake Union - This restaurant by Farestart is not only brilliant for the name but also for their food. From the steak bites to the scallops, pure mouthwatering brilliance.

Magical Marvelous Memorable Cookies- Holiday season to me means lots of cookie baking for sharing and eating. What better cookie to try baking this year than one claiming to be memorable by Food 52.

New Shit in Town

Jerk Shack, Belltown -  As the name implies, Jerk spiced chicken is the move for this new venture by the same folks that run the Caribbean food truck Papa Bois. It just opened and their sweet potato cornbread is calling my name.

Juice Press, U Village - Russell Wilson collaborated with his favorite juice bar introduce to the east coast establishment to his fellow 12th men/women. Try the "Love at First Sight" juice for yourself to see if you fall head over heels like Wilson did.

Fremont Bowl, Fremont - This isn't another poke place, but similar in concept. They will be serving Japanese style donburi rice bowls overflowing with an assortment of seafood.

Chavez, Downtown Seattle-  Chavez opened its second restaurant in Pike Place this past Friday , but it’s a lot cozier than their Caphill location. There is plenty of room at the bar to post up and watch the chef do work in the open kitchen.

Mercato Stellina, Downtown Seattle - Mercato opened up right next to Chavez but is a bigger space with a patio space. There will be loads of pizza, and also handmade pasta. While you can watch the chef at Chaves man the grill, you can watch Mercato's pasta chef make pasta.

Seattle, What's Happening?

Canlis Midnight NYE party, 12/31 - It is way too early to be making New Year's eve plans, but if you want to end 2017 and start 2018 with a bang Canlis epic dance party is the way to go. They have numerous surprises up their sleeves that won't be known until 9pm that night. The ticket prices are steep, but include unlimited food and drinks all night, so click the link to get yours today.
