TMA Mondays: Locally Sourced
A few local and international happenings this week. First, Starbucks opened their largest roastery ever in Shanghai. It includes an 88ft coffee bar, a tea bar, Princi bakery and augmented reality. Yep you read that right. Visitors can point their phone at items to learn more information about the item or Starbuck's coffee process.
On the local side, Revel and Quoin will be moving to SLU for a year while their current location undergoes development. Their one year "pop-up' will be taking over the old space of Vestal.

The Dunbar Room - Hotel Sorrento, First Hill - The Dunbar room is my pick of the week specifically for their cozy fireside room and Sunday Jazzy brunch. Check them out if you want to eat brunch while sitting by a warm fire and serenaded by smooth jazz.
Shortbread - Holiday season means holiday cookies. Shortbreads are one of my favorites. I'm definitely going to be bringing a batch of these brown sugar shortbreads by Sally's Baking addiction to work this week.
New Sh*t in Town
By the Pound, Capitol Hill - The group behind Alchemy have opened a new deli in Capitol Hill. As the name suggests, they'll be selling meat by the pound and classic deli sandwiches. Plus! There is a password protected bar within the deli! Very cool. Its not so much a secret as it is an experience. Sounds like they're definitely worth checking out!
Rider, Downtown - Rider restaurant in Hotel Theodore and from the pictures, it looks grand. The restaurant is all about forest meets ocean? What does that mean? It means, woodfire grilled seafood, PNW vegetables and locally sourced meats and dairy.

Wonderland Brunch, till 01/28 - What's better than brunch? Brunch and burlesque. The Can Can is putting on their Wonderland brunch from now till the end of January. Make a reservation. You don’t want to miss it.
Freemont Sunday Market, 12/17 - It may be cold outside, but the Fremont market is still happening in full swing. Stop by this Sunday for some crafts, food and more.
